WHAT TRUE MAGICK IS
What true magick is to me is what true magick use to be , back before
copyright enfringements and the viciousness of the knife in the back
among the Pagan community as a whole. Magick to me is the natural flow
of magick in its purest form. The magick that my ancestors practiced
long before I and many other witches of today were ever conceived in
the mind least of all in the womb. It is that magick that was
practiced and shared by the old Hereditary groves of my ancestors and
others like them. Magick that is not only passed down by elders to the
young but, also magick that was freely shared among witches in general
if anyone had a need or illness. This is what true magick really is .
Back when all were of a like mind and no one thought they knew more
than anyone else ,were better than everyone else and had access to
more information than anyone else. I have seen so many groups lately
that abuse and disrespect it's members because they don't agree with
everything the group owners think or feel. I have seen groups and
their owners and members accuse others of copyright infringements and
I have actually been on groups where the owners and the members are so
silly that they think people can't write their own spells and that
they can't sound anything remotely like someone else's magick because
that means they stole it from someone else's grandmother..I am sick of it!.
I have seen others who go out of their way to preach their credentials to point out how much more they know than others.Please!!!!
This is the kind of thing I take offense to . What gives these people
the right to make a judgment?. Why is such bad behavior happening in
our Pagan community?. What is wrong with those who are suppose to have
credentials which should give them a knowledge of how to support
others who are offering things from their desire to help and out of
the goodness and light from that heart? What are the things these
people are being taught? and are they being taught this by the people
who taught them? If so , I am ashamed of such behavior on everyone's
part.I also teach lessons for free and this is why I do this :
I teach for free because magick doesn't belong to me , it is gifted to
me to use while I am here this time around. I can't sell something
that isn't mine. The knowledge of how to use it better and to write
those recipes and spells that sound like someone's grandmother's
spells are gifted to me . And I am not sure they sound like someone
else's grandmother's spells. I doubt if the people who scream this had
a grandmother that wrote spells. The spells that I write and copyright
to me are indeed mine. And even these I share freely. I teach my
students to take words or even whole sentences from my spells and
prayers etc. and change them so that they better meet the needs of
those students and then I simply tell them to add a foot note that
reads: Revised from an original spell copyrighted to Lady Edenbolake.
And I do not think I know everything there is to be known , because I
even learn from my students no matter how new they are to the craft,
they still have a brain and inner knowledge they have hidden and it
comes out when training and I point this out to them many times. I
want magick to live and flow and this is how it was done in the old
groves when students were taught. That is why magick flows in circles
because it has been passed down and re-written for centuries and
should continue this way until we are all gone and a new generation
takes over.
I would like to encourage anyone who sees one of my copyrighted spells
or prayers to ask if they may borrow it and then revise it and give
credit where they got the original from and then to say they have my
permission to do so. If someone comes to me and says,"Lady E, I saw
where someone had re-written one of your spells and claims that you
gave them permission to do so ." Then, I will say , "Yes , I did that
and I am so honored that they acknowledged that I or my spell inspired
them". Gee , isn't that hard to swallow? Not for me. I wish I could
make others understand how I feel. I wish I could say "Get a Grip!"
but, that is the problem , they have a grip and it is around the
throat of magick and they are choking it to death!!!!!!!
Please, think about this . Please, if any of you see anything on my
website or groups that you like and think you can change things to
make it better fit your need then, ask if you may borrow that and
follow the request that I made above and I will always say yes. No
questions asked , don't care , never have , never will. I will be
honored and pleased to have you add my spells to your Books of shadows
with credit and I will be pleased and honored if you share and use
them. I am going to be checking in the future to follow up on some of
these people who make great claims of knowledge and see where they
actually got that knowledge. Not that I am trying to hurt anyone but,
if they abuse,disrespect and harm others in the name of that knowledge
then they should be called on it and I intend to do just that. I hope
